Mark E Live at the Mister

Back on December 10, we had Mark E as our guest at 12-turn-13. He cranked out a chugging set of house, and we caught it all on tape. We’re very happy to present it to you now on our new, improved SoundCloud page. Stream below, or download it and take it with you.

Mark E Joins Us at 12-turn-13

After a superb night with DJ Rolando, Justin and Eamon at House of Yes, the Mister is back at the beloved party place 12-turn-13, happy to host another stellar guest: Mark E.

Producer of all things long, slow and burning, Mark Evetts began developing his style with tasteful, heady disco edits. He then went on to start his own label, MERC, defining his sound through a series of self-releases. The most recent example of his excellence is Stone Breaker, his debut LP released this year on Spectral Sound. Required listening.

Accompanying Justin, Eamon and Mark will of course be the indominable vibe at 12-turn-13, with an all-inclusive dancefloor and sprawling rooftop. It’s the best kept secret on Classon Avenue. Catch the tide at 10 for an hour of beer on the house, and RSVP to mister@mistersaturdaynight.com for $15 admission before midnight.

And like Bill Cosby says, don’t boogie on my face. Thanks.

*Although we absolutely love to play host to our underage friends, the operators of the space make the rules. When we can, we do it all-ages, but for 12-turn-13, we’ve gotta keep it twenty-one and over.

Shakes On

Today sees the release of a second Throne of Blood EP from Eamon’s production project with studio partner Steve Raney.

Harkin & Raney‘s ‘Shakes On’ EP explores a version of deep and broody house which has caught the ears and gained the support of The Revenge, Mark E, Neville Watson, Soul Clap, Spencer Parker, Hunee and Craig Richards. They’ve also pulled in a top drawer remix from JG Wilkes of Optimo under his Naum Gabo guise.

Review’s from Resident Advisor, xlr8r and Little White Earbuds can be found here and here and here respectively.

Stone Cold Mark E

We were quite happy this morning to see news of the new Mark E album coming out on Spectral Sounds in May. You can stream the whole album here, and if you wanna get mixtified, there’s a typically masterful new blend-up by Mister Evetts below.
