New York! Just Like I Pictured It

Before we came to New York, we had dreams of dancing with all different kinds of people, races and orientations under one roof. True diversity happens every now and again, but not nearly as much as we want.

The good thing about our fine city, though, is that you can make it what you want. And that’s just what we’re doing. Spank, our favorite underground gay party, joins forces with us to take over 12-turn-13, a place where it feels like anything is possible.

The result is…

February 11th Is Sold Out

After a couple parties abroad, The Mister returns to Brooklyn with Justin and Eamon joined by Four Tet at 12-turn-13.

To keep things comfortable, we’ve decided to make this party a ticket-only event. All tickets are now sold out. If you weren’t able to get one in time, periodically check the Facebook or Resident Advisor pages for ticket holders who can’t attend.

We’re looking forward to spending an intimate evening with you. It’ll be good to be back home.

Mister Motor

2012 is coming fast and furious, with time for just one Mister at home in the month of January. In the coming weeks, Eamon and Justin are making their way to Chicago, London, Glasgow, Berlin and Stuttgart to spread the Mister’s good news.

If you’re stumped on that last city in the list, you’re probably not alone. Stuttgart may not be the best known city in Germany, but it is the epicenter of German auto engineering, hence the name of our guest on January 21.

Motor City Drum Ensemble is the alias of Danilo Plessow, a young Stuttgart-born artist who, with some incredibly mature and inventive music, has been freaking people out since 2007. He played a great set for us on the Gowanus three summers ago, and he hasn’t visited the States again since. Needless to say, we’re excited to have him back after all this time.

The rest of the story is just the way you like it: Music surging through our big, blue soundsystem at 12-turn-13; plenty of room to dance, chat, sing, and work up a sweat on the wood dancefloor; and a beautiful, scenic, rooftop patio for taking a breather. If you RSVP to mister@mistersaturdaynight.com, you’ll get in for $15 if you show up before midnight, and if you get there before eleven, beer’s on us.

Mark E Joins Us at 12-turn-13

After a superb night with DJ Rolando, Justin and Eamon at House of Yes, the Mister is back at the beloved party place 12-turn-13, happy to host another stellar guest: Mark E.

Producer of all things long, slow and burning, Mark Evetts began developing his style with tasteful, heady disco edits. He then went on to start his own label, MERC, defining his sound through a series of self-releases. The most recent example of his excellence is Stone Breaker, his debut LP released this year on Spectral Sound. Required listening.

Accompanying Justin, Eamon and Mark will of course be the indominable vibe at 12-turn-13, with an all-inclusive dancefloor and sprawling rooftop. It’s the best kept secret on Classon Avenue. Catch the tide at 10 for an hour of beer on the house, and RSVP to mister@mistersaturdaynight.com for $15 admission before midnight.
