We’re on the road again this week for four dates in Europe including two Mister Saturday Night parties in Glasgow and Belfast. Tickets for the Glasgow party, this weekend, can be had here whilst full details of the Belfast party, the weekend after, are here.

We’ll also be playing in London this Friday, the 7th, with Optimo and Bradley Zero at Bussey Building in Peckham for Deadly Rhythm for what looks to be a great party. Details and tickets here. And then on the 14th we’ll be popping over to Hamburg to play all night at the Golden Pudel, one of our favorite spots to play.

We hope to see you out!

New To Us

We hope you’re having a great new year. 2014 has been a busy one for us thus far. We’ve been gearing up for a string of new releases on the label and searching for some new spaces as 12-turn-13 works out some kinks.

For our next party, we’re taking over Glasslands. We’re redecorating the space and bringing in our own soundsystem, so even if you’ve been there before, expect it to feel totally different (and just as good as any loft party we’ve ever thrown).

Looking forward to trying something new with you…

UPDATE: Advanced tickets have now sold out. We’ll have a very limited number at the door at 11:30pm, so we’d suggest you get down early. We may admit more people through the course of the night, space permitting, but we’re trying out Glasslands for the first time, and we want to keep it comfortable, so we’ll see how the night goes and how the room feels. See you on Saturday.

No Mister This Sunday. But Don’t Worry.

Hey, folks. We’re canceling this weekend’s Mister Sunday at 12-turn-13. If you bought a ticket, you’ll get a refund very soon. And don’t worry. We’ll have a make-up date before you know it. We just posted Eamon Harkin and Justin Carter’s mix from May 26 at Gowanus Grove, so you can at least get your musical fix this week.

Y’all keep warm, and we’ll see you soon.

Looking Back On 2013: Eamon Harkin

‘Never Grow Old’ from Floorplan’s Paradise LP on M-Plant
In many ways this track epitomizes the musical character I try to bring to our parties – at once deep, dark and soulful. This is Robert Hood at his best, sampling Aretha Franklin under a high energy techno pulse. In the hands of any other producer it would sound pastiche.

The Last Mister Sunday at Gowanus Grove
I wrote about the summer Mister Sunday season this time last year, so I didn’t really want to cover old ground; but when I look back on 2013, the final party we did at Gowanus Grove sticks out significantly. In fact it was so special, I have no doubt I’ll cherish the memory to my dying days.

Justin and I always pack records that we feel are worthy of the last moment of the party, but we never plan which one we’ll play or, for that matter, who will play it. I’d packed quite a few records I thought would work before I left for an out-of-town wedding the Friday before the party. Rok One, my old DJ partner at Studio B, was DJing the wedding, and at the end of the night he played ‘All My Friends’ by LCD Soundsystem. When I came home to Brooklyn the next morning, I grabbed the record before heading to the Grove. If you were there on the day, you know what happened. 13-turn-14

Into 2014 we go… Not quite what Isaac Asimov predicted, but pretty darn close. (Google it!) Anyway, here’s how we’ll be celebrating the coming of the new year, Mister Saturday Night style:

There’s a set number of tickets so it’s relatively intimate (buy them here), and there’s enough room to dance with no crazy lines for drinks and such. We let the ball drop in an easy-going way, so it doesn’t feel too forced; we stock the bar with bubbly, and, as usual, we set up our soundsystem, abandon our cell phones and cameras for the evening, and let Eamon Harkin and Justin Carter loose on the turntables.

12-turn-13 will be decked out from top to bottom in black and white, and we’re asking you to deck yourself out in all black and white, too. You don’t have to wear a tux or anything (though you certainly can if you want), just whatever’s comfortable for you.

The festivities start at 9pm for folks with tickets, and if you’re celebrating the ball drop elsewhere, the doors will open for non-ticket holders at 2am.

No matter when you come, we’re looking forward to kicking the year off with you.
