Super Duper

After taking the whole night for themselves a couple weeks ago, Eamon Harkin and Justin Carter are passing off deck time to Kompakt maestro Superpitcher this Saturday. Hearing him on the recently installed soundsystem in our new home is going to be an experience to say the least – we suggest standing directly under the disco ball for optimal body moving experience.

Everything else is just like you want it to be: plenty of space for dancing, free beers for the first hour of the party, couches to relax and chat on and an outdoor space with a gazebo for fresh air.

Is it some kind of voodoo? No, it’s just Mister Saturday Night.

The Essence

This weekend we’re focusing on the essence of Mister Saturday Night – the residents. Eamon and Justin are holding it down all by themselves, stretching out for at least eight hours, dipping into all corners of their far-flung collections.

This one’s going down at our new Brooklyn home – address info and directions will be posted on Friday in case you don’t have it from last time around – and on the soundsystem that production/DJ duo Bad Decision have generously hooked up for us. If you came for our party on November 6, you heard it, and if you didn’t, trust us when we say it’s truly spectacular.

As usual, the space will be cozy, with plenty of places to sit, lots of wood-floor real estate for dancing, and a patio where you can get some cool air and smoke cigarettes (please no smoking indoors though…). Beer’s free from 10p to 11p, and because we don’t have the expenses associated with hosting a guest, the party’s $5 less than usual.

Taking It Back

This weekend, we’re back at our new home – the spot where we did our party on October 9. It’s the one with the gazebo in the terrace, the hardwood floors, ample bathrooms, and the big windows. This time we’re cozying it up, adding more seating, more lighting, and we’re trying out a new soundsystem. Our friends Arvin Ajamian and Gavin Royce (they call themselves Bad Decision when they DJ and produce music together) have the prototype for the famed Montreal club, Stereo, and we’ll be giving it a go.

Our guest this time is Sascha Dive, a man who’s been remixed by Moodymann and a vinyl addict who’s all about texture and tone and great house music, so he’ll doubtlessly take advantage of the stellar system.

As usual, beer’s free for the first hour of the party, and if you’re in a crunch, advance tickets are available but in limited supply, so hop on them sooner than later. All the details to the right as usual.

A Special Halloween

It’s Halloween! This year, instead of sitting it out, we decided we’d offer an antidote to the typically messy offerings, a Halloween party our way: great music, proper sound, fellow party-goers you’ll actually want to talk to, and the most special of special places, 12-turn-13 – this time decked out by our friend Jessica Grindstaff. Jessica is a brilliant mind who’s designed sets at BAM for Kronos Quartet and is currently working on a grand project about Arctic explorer Ernest Shackleton. She’s the real deal.

To boot, if you’re one of the first hundred people through the door, you’ll get a limited edition Mister Saturday Night Halloween Mix CD with special packaging by Miss Grindstaff. And if you get there before 11p, beer’s on the house.

You can still grab an advanced ticket over at Resident Advisor, and if you wear a proper costume – not just something you’ve thrown together (show some effort!) – you’ll get in for $15. Otherwise all the details you need can be found just to the right of this post. We’ll see you Saturday!

This Weekend’s Jam

Ok folks, this weekend’s party is almost upon us. Hope you’re as excited as we are. We’ve got a wonderful new spot with wooden floors, and outdoor terrace and plenty of bathrooms. (You’ll enter through the gate that you see in the middle of the picture below.) On the music front we’re delighted to have a truly talented guest in the form of Keith Worthy joining Eamon and Justin.
