Johnny Knoxville may be the host for this documentary about Detroit, but it’s no joke. Carl Craig, The Dirtbombs and our buddy Phil Cooley (who was just featured in a New York Times article yesterday) all talk about how the Motor City is rising from the ashes.

Bubbletease
There are never enough opportunities to hear new things from Maurice Fulton. The Sheffield-based, Baltimore-raised producer and DJ is one of the most prolific and talented around, but sadly, his creations see the light of day too infrequently.
Lucky for us, there’s Bubbletease Communications, his monthly podcast, which previews things that are yet to come: tracks from Tungi, the Mim Suleiman album he produced, were getting aired out about two years before it got released. And that’s a rarity. Most of what you hear on Bubbletease will never come out: Maurice is known to hold onto secret stompers without ever sending them to market.
We’ll deal, though. As long as they’re recorded on the thirty-minute Bubbletease mixes, we’ll be able to hear them in exactly the way we should.
Just Arrived
A big package of records just arrived at my door. It’s like Christmas! The James Blake track above – ‘I Only Know (What I Know Now)’ – was the first thing to go on the player. Heavenly. The I:Cube track below, ‘Merovingienne’, I’ve been dying for since I got the promo late last spring. Two (two!) got lost in the mail on the way over the Atlantic, so it’s a long-time coming. ‘In The City’ is a pretty little thing for the early evening by our friend Jacques Renault; and ‘Closer’ is, well, it’s filthy. And I love it. Continue reading “Just Arrived”
What You Think
Did you come to the party on Saturday? We were psyched about how the night went, but there are a few tweaks we’re thinking of making. Before we do that, though, we want to know your opinion. After all, you make the party happen as much as we do.
How was your experience at the bar? Did you love the space? Think we could do something different? The sound, the crowd, the layout: we want your opinion on everything, whether positive, negative or ambivalent. Leave comments below, or if you prefer to give us a shout directly, drop us a line at ask -at- mistersaturdaynight -dot- com. Thanks!

Wolf Music Pops Out Another One
Yet another gem from Wolf Music just came out last week, this time with a killer cut from someone called Dead Rose Company. I cane two of Wolf’s last five releases at every single Mister Saturday – namely ‘Remember Donny’ and ‘I Wanna Be With You’ (the latter of which you can stream down below) – and I own all the others. As soon as it arrives in the mail, this’ll move right into rotation as well.
