Since we started Mister Saturday Night, we’ve been trying to create the best environment to connect people to each other through music. That energy has all been focused on the dancefloor.
Recently, though, we’ve been thinking about all the music we love that’s not for dancing, and we’ve been working on a way to experience that music that is as immersive and communal as being with others on a dancefloor. In about two-and-a-half weeks we’re starting something that aims to do that. It’s called Planetarium.
For the first Planetarium, we’ve reserved an amazing private loft space with a beautiful hi-fi system on which we’ll be playing music to get lost in. There will be couches and chairs, and you can bring blankets, sleeping bags, pillows or anything else you’d like to make yourself comfortable. We’ll only do a handful of reservations so that there’s plenty of room to spread out.
The session will go from 7pm to midnight on Friday, June 24th. You can bring your own drinks (there’s no bar), and there will be a space reserved for smoking inside so you never have to leave the bubble we’re creating.
Because we’re doing this at someone’s home, we’ll only send the location info to people who reserve a ticket in advance. So you know how to plan, we can tell you it’s not too far from Nowadays, less than five minutes from the Halsey L.

Picking up where we left off at the church of St. John at Hackney, the Mister is back at Oval Space in early April for our first Sunday party in London in 2016.
Those Sundays in Bethnal Green last year were loads of fun, so there’s no fussing with the formula – it’s soul food on the terrace, a toasty sound system with plenty of oversize balloons inside, and Eamon and Justin at the controls through the afternoon and into the night.
We get psyched about the above anyway, but the fact that it’s all correlated with the clocks springing forward has us more excited than ever about the prospect of another one of those sun-drenched dancefloor experiences…
So yes, the forecast is looking good from our side!

Hello Friends. It’s Anthony Naples’ new party in New York City. Tony mans the turntables, lights and sound effects all night. Team Mister supplies the sound and the nice security guys. This is the first one. It’s at Silent Barn.
2. There’s no room for unsolicited advances; racist, sexist, homophobic and transphobic comments; touching you didn’t ask for; verbal or physical violence; and anything else of that ilk at our parties. If someone’s making you feel uncomfortable in any way, please let a staff member know. Sound staff, bar staff, security, DJs: we’re all on the same team and want to make sure there’s no funny business.
3. Please don’t use cameras and phones on the dance floor, and leave handbags at home or in coat check (our coat check is always reasonably priced). We ask you not to use cameras and phones because we want the dance floor to be a place where everyone can be in the moment. If you’re tweeting, texting or taking a picture of your friends, you’re not only out of the moment, you’re also probably making it hard for someone else to be in the moment.
4. If you’re on the dance floor, dance! There are plenty of places at our parties where you can stand and socialize off the dance floor.
5. Please don’t bring your own drinks into the party. Drinks at the bar are reasonably priced anyway.
6. At the door, keep in mind that the cover is really the cover. Everyone likes a deal, but throwing parties has its costs, and we need your help to make it happen. If you’re supposed to be on the guestlist or will call but you’re not, don’t give the nice folks working at the door a hard time. They’ve heard a lot of stories, and though yours might be true, the only thing they have to go on is what’s in front of them. If there’s ever an issue, just pay to get in, and email us after the fact, and we can sort it out.
7. Be nice to everyone. Obviously. Tip well. Say excuse me if you bump into someone.
8. Please smoke off of the dance floor (or outdoors when we’re doing a party inside).
9. Our DJ booth sits right next to the dance floor. If you lean on it, run into it, or bump it, records will start skipping. Please be careful of it.
10. When DJs are in the booth, it may not always look like it, but they’re working. Even if they’re not actively mixing, they’re surveying the dance floor, thinking about what to play next, and trying to make sure that the music stays just right. It’s okay to ask them what song they’re playing, but beyond that, please save conversations for when they’re out of the booth.
11. The DJs at the Mister have a particular musical vision. Please don’t make requests.
12. Finally, we realize that, as you’re cool enough to take the time to read through our list of rules, you’re likely on the same page as us already. We’re an open door kind of party, though, and sometimes there are new people who aren’t bad folks but don’t yet understand what the Mister is all about. If you feel like someone doesn’t know the scoop, it’s okay to tell them – in a nice way, of course. This party is yours, and if you can help bring newcomers into the fold of what we’re doing, it’ll make things even better than they already are. If you’re not comfortable talking to someone directly, that’s cool, too. Just tell a security guard, or, again, any staff member, and they can steer people in the right direction.
