Hard Courage

MSN_2013_Jan_FaltyDL3bWe’re back at the House of Yes before Eamon and Justin head out on tour for the month of February. Joining the boys this evening is Brooklyn’s own FaltyDL. He’s got an album called “Hardcourage” just out on Ninjatune, and he’ll be playing live. We’ll be doing a few special things to celebrate the album release, and you’ll be able to pick up his record at the merch table.

Then there are the things we always to to make it special: analogue party lights, late-night bagel bar, and on-the-house beers for the first hour of the party. Why? Because we like you.

A Little Dose Of Summertime

MSN_2013_Jan_MrSun3(1)

Memorial Day is just too far away.So we’ve decided to bring a little dose of summertime to January by doing a special winter edition of Mister Sunday on MLK weekend. We’re setting up shop at our favorite loft in the whole wide world, 12-turn-13, where there are plenty of windows to let the sunshine in and where there’s plenty of room on the rooftop to catch some crisp air.

Country Boys will be in the house serving up Mexican fare, mulled wine will be on the bar menu, we’ll be hanging lights from the beams to make it feel as much like you’re dancing in the trees as possible, and we’ll have a little area for the kids to have some fun until sundown. (After sundown it’ll likely be time to put them to bed: 12-turn-13’s not as expansive as Gowanus Grove, so most of the space becomes the dancefloor as the evening wears on.)

The party runs from 3pm to 9pm, and it costs $15; or, if you RSVP to mister@mistersaturdaynight.com and get there before 5pm, it’ll only cost you $10. 12-turn-13 is at 172 Classon Ave, between Park and Myrtle Ave. Here’s a map.

We can’t wait to see you.

Work It Out

MSN_2013_Jan_HouseofYesMaggie(1)It’s time to dance again.

Eamon and Justin DJ all night to a room full of folks who wanna get down. Free beer for the first hour and free bagels at the witching hour. $10 before midnight if you RSVP to mister@mistersaturdaynight.com, $15 otherwise.

See you there.

An Intimate New Year’s Eve

OUR NEW YEAR’S EVE PARTY IS NOW SOLD OUT, AND TICKETS CANNOT BE TRANSFERRED TO OTHER NAMES. IF YOU DON’T HAVE A TICKET FOR THE PARTY WE’LL BE OPENING DOORS FOR NON-TICKET HOLDERS AT 3AM, SPACE PERMITTING. WE HOPE TO SEE YOU THEN!

2012. It’s been a great year.

We threw our hundredth party; we started a record label; we danced outside almost every week for five months; we threw parties in London and Berlin; and we saw the Mister’s residents, Eamon Harkin and Justin Carter, mix it up for Resident Advisor, Little White Earbuds, Boiler Room and Rinse FM among others.

So, how to close out such a year? By taking it back to basics, of course.

We’re setting up at House of Yes for our New Year’s Eve celebration. Our sound team is tuning up the big, blue soundsystem; Jeffrey Ralston, our lighting and mood designer-in-chief, is making the place feel special (Balloons? Confetti? Probably that and more); and Justin and Eamon will be playing records all night long.

And this year, just like last year, we’re keeping it intimate. No waiting for a drink for an hour at the bar, no standing in crazy lines at the bathroom, and no coat check debacles. Just you, us, some friends and some dancing. And a champagne toast at midnight, of course.

You’ll need an advance tickets to join us. That way we can make sure that just the right amount of folks are inside.

If you can’t make it for the ball drop, we’ll be opening the doors for everyone else at 3am, so you can still come and get down on the late end without a ticket.

No matter when, we really hope to kick the year off with you.
