Fertile Times: An Interview with Caribou


The man behind the moniker Caribou is Dan Snaith. As you’re no doubt aware by now, he’s DJing with us this weekend as Mister Saturday Night returns after a longer than planned break.

We’ve been chatting with him on email for the past week or so in anticipation of the party. It was a pleasure to hear that he knew all about us and what we do, and he’s clearly enthused and looking forward to the gig.

A Sunday Celebration with Justus Kohncke

Spring has finally arrived in New York which means summer isn’t far off. I dipped into the archives of our old Sunday party this week and had a listen to Justus Kohncke’s set from 2009. It’s pretty great and it brought back lovely memories, such as the one above. If you don’t have the set already you can grab it here. Roll on summer.

Thom Yorke, Four Tet & Burial Collaborate


We’re big, make that HUGE, fans of Radiohead and Thom Yorke. We’re also pretty sizable fans of Mister Kieran Hebden aka Four Tet and the more mysterious Burial. So naturally we’re very excited about this three-way collaboration, which you can pre-order right here.

Enter The Red Zone

Following on from previous posts covering the house sounds of the seminal Junior Boys Own imprint and the marvelous MK here’s a look at another great production style from the 90s – the Red Zone remixes from New York’s own David Morales.

Morales was one of the first super star DJs, breaking through in the early 90s after receiving critical recognition from Larry Levan. He carved out a lucrative career as a remixer at a time when a house remix was a must for all major label releases. It’s his Red Zone remixes and in particular the dub versions which catch my ear.
