Enter The Red Zone

Following on from previous posts covering the house sounds of the seminal Junior Boys Own imprint and the marvelous MK here’s a look at another great production style from the 90s – the Red Zone remixes from New York’s own David Morales.

Morales was one of the first super star DJs, breaking through in the early 90s after receiving critical recognition from Larry Levan. New Mix from Wolf Music Matt

In case you didn’t know, we really love Wolf Music over here at the Mister. Lately Eamon’s been closing sets with The Dead Rose Music Company’s ‘Just A Bitter Love‘; we closed out our Allez Allez mix with KRL’s ‘I Wanna Be With You’, and we also included their most recent EP in our JunoPlus chart.

We are mildly obsessed. (At least I am.) So you could understand how happy we’d be that Matt, the gent who runs Wolf, has made a mix just for us. I can personally attest that it’s perfect for a morning listen or an end-of-day listen, but it’d probably suit you fine any old time.

Thanks much to Matt for the mix.  We hope (and we are pretty sure that) you will enjoy!

There’s a tracklisting after the jump if you want to trainspot.

Wade In

This new Joy Orbison’s got me even more excited about playing alongside him next month than I was before. What a banger. It’s coming out next week, but you can pre-order here. Nom, nom, nom…

Dreaming of Brooklyn

It’s nice here, but I’m still dreaming of Brooklyn.

The Dirtbombs – Sharevari

I’ve been listening to the Dirtbombs record of classic techno covers this week. The record for me is about 50/50 hit or miss. The Sharevari cover, although not strictly a techno track, works the best I think. Nice video too.
