From little kids to great grandfathers, the dopest group of people we’ve seen together in a long time has populated the MisterSunday dancefloor over the past couple weeks. Eamon and Justin have been in fine form as well. We recorded their set two weeks ago, and it’s dripping with vibes – see post below.
Into 2014 we go… Not quite what Isaac Asimov predicted, but pretty darn close. (Google it!) Anyway, here’s how we’ll be celebrating the coming of the new year, Mister Saturday Night style:
There’s a set number of tickets so it’s relatively intimate (buy them here), and there’s enough room to dance with no crazy lines for drinks and such. We let the ball drop in an easy-going way, so it doesn’t feel too forced; we stock the bar with bubbly, and, as usual, we set up our soundsystem, abandon our cell phones and cameras for the evening, and let Eamon Harkin and Justin Carter loose on the turntables.
12-turn-13 will be decked out from top to bottom in black and white, and we’re asking you to deck yourself out in all black and white, too. You don’t have to wear a tux or anything (though you certainly can if you want), just whatever’s comfortable for you.
The festivities start at 9pm for folks with tickets, and if you’re celebrating the ball drop elsewhere, the doors will open for non-ticket holders at 2am.
No matter when you come, we’re looking forward to kicking the year off with you.
It’s the usual drill at 12-turn-13. There are plenty of windows to let the sunshine in, and there’s plenty of room on the rooftop to catch some crisp air in between dances.
We’ll have local food spot, Anderson’s 1949, serving up food, and we’ll have tables and chairs throughout the space at 3pm to hang and chat before we clear them out and crank the music up to get the dancefloor going.
It’s been a while since we’ve done our own party in London – over a year, in fact.
Which is why we’re very happy to announce that we’re taking over Dalston’s Dance Tunnel this coming Saturday for a proper Mister Saturday Night with a local promotional assistance from the fine gentlemen at Black Atlantic. Tickets available here.
And the night before we’ll be making our Manchester debut at the Soup Kitchen for Work Them. Tickets for that one can be picked up here.
