Interpretations

Here’s a collection of my edit releases from over the years. The first two were released on Wurst (read the RA review here) and the second were released on my Subway Series imprint.

Absence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder

It sure does. And when this edition of Mister Saturday Night goes down, we’ll have been without you for a month. Things won’t have changed too much, though. Of course Eamon and Justin will have some new records, and we’ll probably have some new lights to dazzle; but the vibe will be just the same–easy-going, no-nonsense fun from midnight until early in the morning, and lots of friendly faces to greet you from the door to the bar.

Eamon and Justin have been bringing it more than ever at the recent Mister Saturdays, dropping everything from sunshine disco to Nervous Acid; and our guest, Kristian from Ame, is no stranger to a blissed out dancefloor himself. The Innervisions boss is at the pinnacle of the good old fashioned house revival that’s turned minimal techno on its head in Germany and the rest of Europe.

It’s always a good night with the Mister, and even though we’ve had to switch venues, this one will be no exception. We can’t wait to see you. The spot for this party is smaller than Market Hotel so please come early to guarantee entry.

Mister Saturday Night Takes Minneapolis

It’ll be nearly a month before we pop up again in New York, but if you’re in Minneapolis, here’s a little taste. Mister Saturday Night is headed to First Avenue on Saturday, April 3. Eamon and Justin are headlining the Midwest music institution’s main room–the very one in which Prince dedicated this one to his Dad. The party we’re playing is called Too Much Love (the brain child of our good friend Peter Lansky aka Soviet Panda), and Justin is playing his Sexy Dancer twelve inch no matter what anyone says.

Justin Carter and Eamon Harkin Live From Mister Saturday Night on October 24, 2009

In spite of a torrential downpour and a lot of crazy shenanigans that came along with it (stitches, floods), Mister Saturday Night on October 24, pulled through–not least because of great DJ sets from Justin Carter and Eamon Harkin, who book-ended a set from Moodymann. Here are some excerpts from the evening. We hope you enjoy.

About Eamon Harkin

Eamon arrived in New York by way of the North of Ireland in 2004, and immediately set about creating ‘Calling All Kids’, a party which played homage to New York legend Arthur Russell and all that he loved about the rich history of downtown New York. The party’s success catapulted him into guest spots at Motherf*cker (sharing bills with the likes The Cramps) and into a residency at FUN, at the now-gone Studio B, where he also actively led the bookings and production and brought a variety of talent through the doors – including Berlin’s boisterous Modeselektor, The Egyptian Lover’s old-school electro, and Escort’s new-school disco. These days, of course, he produces Mister Saturday Night and Mister Sunday and DJs the world over with his partner Justin Carter.

As a producer, Eamon has released critically acclaimed edits, remixes and original productions, on his own and with partner Steve Raney (as Harkin and Raney), for Wurst Music Co, Throne of Blood, Subway Series and On the Prowl. His music has been played by DJ Harvey, Optimo, Rub n Tug, Floating Points, Mark E, Tim Sweeney and Levon Vincent; and it’s driven many a party over the brink.
