Ballroom Dancing

MSN_2014_Mar8 V2A(2)

The Mister takes over the high-ceilinged ballroom of The Bell House. We’re bringing in our own soundsystem, hanging the lights, and Eamon and Justin are playing records from 10pm until the end. The party tends to sell out in advance these days, so it’s wise to buy a ticket in advance.

We’ll see you on the dancefloor.

NOTE: We’re just a couple days away from this weekend’s party at The Bell House, and we’re getting stoked. Advance tickets sold out for this one late last week, so if you don’t have a ticket already, here’s what we’re going to do:

When the doors open at 10pm, we’ll have a handful of tickets for sale. We imagine those will go pretty quickly, so it’s a good idea to show up early. Otherwise, we’ll have a look at the dancefloor at 1am, and if it feels comfortable, we’ll start letting more people in around then. The Bell House is large, and we’re optimistic that we’ll have some room later on.

It’s probably also a good time to remind you that we’re doing Mister Sunday at Silent Barn on the 16th of March. If you want to come, it’s a good idea to get tickets for that party now.

That’s all for now… We’ll see you soon!

New To Us

MSN_2014_Feb1-V1A(1)
We hope you’re having a great new year. 2014 has been a busy one for us thus far. We’ve been gearing up for a string of new releases on the label and searching for some new spaces as 12-turn-13 works out some kinks.

For our next party, we’re taking over Glasslands. We’re redecorating the space and bringing in our own soundsystem, so even if you’ve been there before, expect it to feel totally different (and just as good as any loft party we’ve ever thrown).

Looking forward to trying something new with you…

UPDATE: Advanced tickets have now sold out. We’ll have a very limited number at the door at 11:30pm, so we’d suggest you get down early. We may admit more people through the course of the night, space permitting, but we’re trying out Glasslands for the first time, and we want to keep it comfortable, so we’ll see how the night goes and how the room feels. See you on Saturday.

Some Guests In June

Hey, folks. We’ve got two big guests joining Justin and Eamon behind the decks in June. Tickets for June 2 are already sold out, but there are still some left for the party on June 23. Make your move soon! You can get them here.

Here Comes The Story of the Hurricane

August. What a wash. As you probably figured, this weekend’s festivities are no-gos. There’s the hurricane, yes, but there’s no way you could get to us. Now that the MTA is shutting down everything at noon tomorrow AND all the car companies that we’ve called have said that they’re closing up shop, you’d have to walk, and walking in the wind and the rain is a bummer.

The good news, though, is that we’ve already got makeup dates scheduled. Pépé Bradock will play Mister Saturday Night at 12-turn-13 on September 17, and Optimo will join us for a special nighttime party after the final Mister Sunday of the season next Sunday night. We’ll have info about both of those parties soon, but for now, go to the grocery store, and buy some milk and eggs, because when Irene hits, you’re gonna want some breakfast.

Gowanus Grove

Welcome to Gowanus Grove, a little slice of paradise in the middle of industrial Brooklyn. Situated on the border of Carroll Gardens and Gowanus, the site has been a long-time home for cultural events (once as the home of Issue Project Room and then of BKLYN Yard), its bucolic setting the perfect respite from the concrete and steel that surrounds it.

Gowanus Grove is located at 400 Carroll Street between Bond and Nevins in Brooklyn. To get there, you can take the F or G train to Carroll Street. Mister Sunday resides at Gowanus Grove every Sunday during the summer. Check the schedule to the right to find out when we’ll be there.

note. Occassionally we’ll host a non-Mister Sunday special event at the Grove. If you’re looking for information about such an event, refer to its website for more info. We just list the Mister Sunday stuff here! Thanks, and we we hope to see you soon!
