The Bad News and The Good News

The bad news: Luke Vibert, our guest on Saturday night, has had his visa delayed, so he won’t make it to the States this weekend. The good news is that he’s not been denied, just delayed, so it won’t be long before we can announce another date that he’ll join us. We’ll let you know as soon as that happens. The other good news is that the party will go on under the open skies at Brooklyn Fire Proof as planned, and it’ll be cheaper because we don’t have the extra expenses associated with having a guest, so you can still come get your Saturday Night dance on. We’ve also added a special projectionist to the night as well. His name is DoctorMojo.

To alleviate any confusion, all tickets purchased before our cancellation announcement will be refunded. If you still want to buy a ticket, they are up here, or you can just RSVP to mister@mistersaturdaynight.com for reduced admission before midnight, and we’ll see you down there!

Could there possibly be more good news? Yes. You can join us down at the Grove for Mister Sunday the next day as well, where 10% of all the proceeds from the door will go to Malaria No More, an organization aimed at wiping out malaria deaths in Africa by 2015. There’s a little bit more info about them down below.

We’ll see you this weekend… or next weekend, when we’re playing with Moodymann! The good news just doesn’t stop.

Toughening Up: Live Recording from June 26th

Last week we posted Ivan Smagghe’s mix from the party back on June 26th, held outdoors on a hot and sweaty Brooklyn night.

Here is the second part of that recording, Eamon’s closing set taking over after Mister Smagghe. A little more on the tougher end of the Mister Saturday Night musical spectrum this one features jams from Marc Houle, Superpitcher, Oni Ayhun, Aril Brikha, Levon Vincent, Harkin & Raney, Blake Baxter a few others.

Download here. And as always, hope you enjoy.

Hot and Bothered: Ivan Smagghe Live Recording

The summer just past was the hottest on record for New York City. And June 26th was one of the most sweltering and humid nights of the year. Which actually made for perfect conditions for a guest spot from Ivan Smagghe, playing under the stars and the Mister Saturday Night visuals, to the industrial backdrop of the courtyard at Brooklyn Fire Proof.

We recorded the entire night. So here’s the first part of that recording – Mister Smagghe’s mix of dark and groovy techno. Download it here. And enjoy!

Fire Proof Hot Shots

On a particularly beautiful night a couple weeks ago, hundreds of friendly faces packed out Brooklyn Fire Proof to get down under the stars with Justin, Eamon and DJ Harvey. With every last taco devoured by 11, there was nothing left to do but lose it on the dance floor.

If you were there, take a peek at these photos from the evening, and see if you can spot yourself. And if you missed it, don’t be jealous–just come this weekend.
